A Sure Way To A Happy Day

Happiness is something we create in our mind,

It’s not something you search for & so seldom find.

It’s just waking up & beginning the day

By counting our blessings & kneeling to pray.

It’s giving up thoughts that breed discontent

And accepting what comes as a gift heaven sent.

It’s giving up wishing for things we have not

And making the best of whatever we’ve got.

It’s knowing that life is determined for us,

And pursuing our tasks without fret, fume, or fuss.

For it’s by completing what God gives us to do

That we find real contentment & happiness, too.

Restmor Ice Cream Social

Reserving the Fellowship Hall

Just for your info … Chris & Ruth Pflederer are the contacts for reserving the Fellowship Hall for family or church functions.

Conference Umbrellas

If you signed up to bring an umbrella during the week of the conference, please mark it with your name & bring it to church on Sunday, August 9th.  There will be containers available at each entrance.

 

Conference Parking

Please note that on Thursday & Friday during the conference, the Tremont Congregation should park in the grass on the East side of the Fellowship Hall.  This may be accessed through the parking lot or through Chestnut Place.  In case of large amounts of rain, this plan will be changed to the Tremont Congregation parking on the side streets North & Northeast of the church.  If possible, please do not park on Chestnut or Franklin Streets. Parking attendants will be directing traffic each morning.  Thank you!  (Map Attached)

 

Conference World Relief Meeting

There will be a National World Relief Informational Meeting from 1:00-4:30 p.m. on August 13th in the large SS Room for anyone who is interested.  Here is the schedule for the meeting:

Conference First Aid

The First Aid Committee will be holding a meeting directly after church on Sunday, August 9th to review the AED & instructions for the workers.

 

Conference Food Sign-up for Friday

If you are planning to attend the conference on Friday (and are not working) please sign-up at the message center so you can be added to the food count.  Thanks!

 

Conference Misc. Notes

1.  Attire for the conference from Tuesday through Friday is church clothes.

2.  Please do not bring children to the singing on Thursday evening.

Conference Cleaning Meeting

If you are not familiar with the location of cleaning supplies, or if you have any questions, we will be available August 5th after Wednesday night church to answer questions or show you supplies.  Please meet in the kitchen.  (The meeting is optional).

 

To All Parents

The sisters refilling milk & water pitchers, & especially coffeepots, are concerned with the number of children that are in the area of the dining room between the south end of the tables & the serving counter.  It would be appreciated if you would see to it that your children are not in this area over the noon hour.  We would hate to have someone burned with hot coffee.  Thank you for your cooperation.

Tremont Brothers’ Meeting – August 31st

There will be a meeting for all Tremont brothers & male converts on Monday, August 31, 2009 at 7:00 p.m. at the FH.  The subject will be “Purity” & will be given by Elder Brother Ron Messner & Brother Bill Schmidgall of ACCFS.  Every brother is encouraged to attend to learn about this very important topic for the culture we live in.  We are encouraging our sisters to be prayerful that this meeting can be an honor to God & helpful to the men in our congregation.
