December Bulletin

The Meaning of Christmas

Christmas, like the Bible, means varied things to man …

To some a reawakening of God’s momentous plan.

To some a day of gladness, a special time and place,

To give a gift, to greet a friend, or wear a smiling face.

But some there are, who seem to me, forever set apart;

Who through the years serenely walk with Christmas in their heart.

Rescue Squad EMT’s Needed:

Rules require the Tremont Rescue Squad to provide a driver & 2 Emergency Medical Technicians (EMT) with each call.  The squad’s main problem is finding volunteer EMT’s for the daytime shifts.  In past months, our governing body has allowed the squad to operate with one EMT.  This is happening an average of 8 times a month, as often as 18 times a month, & WILL NO LONGER BE PERMITTED AFTER JUNE 2010.  If the schedule cannot be filled on a regular basis, a tax referendum may have to be considered so that daytime EMT’s can be hired.  The squad would prefer to remain all volunteer & believes the community of Tremont can work together to achieve this.  The next EMT class begins January 31st & the Rescue Squad board is waiving the tuition for this class.  Details about class dates, locations, & prerequisites can be found at http://rescue702.com . Please contact Anne Zuercher with any questions & to sign up for the class.

God sent the little Christ Child long centuries ago

To walk & talk with mortal men on this sinful earth below.

And remember that God’s purpose in sending His Son

Was to purchase our salvation when our life on earth was done …

So let us try to follow in His footsteps day by day By loving more & hating less all men who pass our way.
