Winter Work Project in Oakville Extended

The Winter Work Project in Oakville has been extended through the end of May.  There is still a need for volunteers to complete the work in the homes that are at or near the finishing stage.  Finish carpenters are needed to install kitchen cabinets & trim out doors & windows.  Painters, flooring installers & general laborers are needed.  The scope of the work has expanded to include the renovation of the FH.  The goal is to have the completed by the end of May.  Please check www.acworldrelief.org for available dates or contact Bro. Stan Heimer in Oakville at 319-572-7452 or email: stamh65@aol.com

Thanks to all for your continued support of this project.  May God richly bless each act of love!

Josh Aberle Update

For those of you who have been faithfully praying & following the Caring Bridge Website for our granddaughter Josh & Sarah Aberle, you know of the death & entering into Glory of Sarah.  It’s hard to find words to describe the feelings in our hearts at this time of loss & sorrow.  We want to express our appreciation for all the prayers & encouragements to them & us.  It has meant so much that you have supported & upheld them even when you only knew of them as our beloved grandchildren.  Because of the medical treatments for both Josh & Sarah’s cancers, there is a great financial need.  If you were wanting an opportunity to bless this dear family there has been a fund set up at their bank for Josh & his 5 small children.  Make checks payable to:  Josh Aberle & Children Fund, in care of … John O. Melby State Bank, P.O. Box 96, Whitehall, WI 54773-0096.  Bank Phone:  866-566-2265.  Please include your name & address info & the bank will send you a receipt.  Their address for cards:  Josh Aberle, W11844 Folkman Rd., Blair, WI 54616.  Mike & Su Aberle, 488 Rim Rock Rd., Taneyville, MO 65759.  We all continue to treasure your prayers.  With our love & appreciation, Walt & Vera Aberle Family

Masterpiece

God gave us all the wonders of His scenic out-of-doors,

The fresh pure air, the bright sunshine, wild creatures by the score.

He carved majestic mountains with skilled & steadfast Hand;

He hollowed out the ocean’s cup & carpeted the land.

He gave us grass & trees & flowers, each lovely thing that grows;

The grandeur of the redwoods, the beauty of the rose.

The rippling silver river, the delicate snowflake,

The glory of the sunset & the cool, blue mountain lake,

He made the stars & gave them each an appointed place …

Created then, His masterpiece, a mother’s gentle face!

The Bible Distribution Committee would like to thank the church for generously supporting the Bible Fund.  Over the past few months we have received some letters from inmates at various prisons who have received Bibles from us.  They are very appreciative and also request our prayers for themselves, their families, and the other inmates. The following are excerpts from these letters:

'I want to thank you for this beautiful word of God.  I use it every day.  Again thank you for your care and love.'

'I just want to thank all those responsible directly or indirectly for blessing me with the Holy Bible.  Thank you all.'

'May the Lord keep on blessing you all, that you have bless me with what He has bless you with!'

'Pray for the families of all the brothers here in IDOC, and pray for the brothers who struggles with sin daily.'

'I'm writing in regards to the Bible you sent me.  I'd like to thank you, and send you my blessings.  I recently gave my life over to Christ in La-Salle county jail in Ottawa IL and should be getting baptized here sometime next week.  I've been trying to get a large print King James version Bible since my arrival here, so it was a blessing when I received it.  Plus I understand it because it gives certain words that I don't understand the meaning of that word at the end of each verse, so it makes it alot easier.  Well thanks a lot again, and if possible please say a prayer for my family, and daughter.  Thank you again for the Bible, and God bless you, and your family, and the people of the church.'
