August Bulletin

Make Life A Little Sweeter

O let me shed a light on someone’s path I pray;

I’d like to be a messenger of happiness today.

It may be just a phone call, a smile, or a prayer,

Or long neglected letter would lift the edge of care.

I want to spread some happiness in what I say or do,

Make life a little sweeter for some else!  Don’t you?

*Alice Hansche Mortenson*

Note from Kitchen Committee

We want to thank everyone for their patience & cooperation during our transition into the new kitchen.  There is a list of guidelines in the kitchen with instructions on what to do on Saturday & what to do on Sunday.  Please read these & follow them closely.  We also have a checklist available for you to use.  These are available in the kitchen.  A couple of key points are:  *Turn on ice machine*  *Empty ALL crates & put dishes under tables*  *Make sure you restack the cup crates & glass crates separately*  Just a reminder that everything does take a little longer because of the increase in number of tables, trays, etc.  Again, we encourage you to help out the week before you serve to become more familiar with the routine.  We will continue to help out when needed.

Thank you, The Kitchen Committee

Volunteer Opportunity

We are looking for retired men who would be willing to run the dishwasher during funeral meals.  Please call Jerry Kaiser at 925-3885 if you are interested.

Dishwashing Help Needed

The men who run the dishwasher on Sundays are ready to teach other men how to do the job.  If you are willing & want to learn – come back at 11:15 on Sundays to watch.  The only way to learn is to work along with someone who already knows how to do it.  Thanks!

Good Neighbors

If you know of someone who needs help or would like to be a “Good Neighbor” yourself, please let the Good Neighbor coordinators know.  The coordinators are:  Dale/Joann Sauder & Bill/Marilyn Huette.  Thanks J

Reception Invitation

There will be a Tremont Reception held for Dale & Meg (Dill) Koch on Sunday, August 17th.  The reception will be from 2:00-4:00 p.m. at the FH.  Everyone is invited to attend.

Thankful for health, thankful for life,

Thankful for guidance in sorrow & strife.

Thankful for food & ripe golden grain,

For all that is needful our life to sustain.

Thankful for friends who just stand by

Upon whose help we can rely.

Thankful for home with comforts blest

Where peace abides with love & rest.

Thankful for those who daily impart,

Strength for the journey, cheer for the heart.

Thankful to work in rich moist soil

Where roses bloom, to compensate toil.

Thankful to hear the still small Voice

Making our heart in life’s sorrows rejoice.

Four things a man must learn to do

If he would make the record true:

To THINK without confusion clearly;

To LOVE his fellow man sincerely;

To ACT from honest motives purely;

To TRUST in God & Heaven securely.
