Prayer Request

We sincerely ask for your prayers regarding our 16 year old sister, Michelle Loesch, who was diagnosed in early October with Stage 3 cancer called Ewing Sarcoma.  Thankfully the cancer is only in her soft tissues at this time.  For now, the plan is to undergo chemotherapy for one year & to receive radiation for 6 weeks after chemotherapy is finished.  She is experiencing some pain & is often in & out of the hospital.  Please pray for health, strength, & fast healing.  We pray for God’s permissive will to be done, & hope it is for her to be cured after one year.  This is a hard time for my father as well because he is a single parent.

World Relief Informational Night

The World Relief Informational Night will be held on Sunday, January 4th at 6:30 p.m.  Topics will include:  Local Sewing/Family Nights, Child Sponsorship, Apostolic Water Aid, & E. European Slide Presentation. 

 

Tremont Food Pantry

The Tremont Food Pantry is open every Monday evening from 5:00-7:00 p.m. excluding holidays.  Our church does the 2nd Monday of every month.  Volunteers are needed for the months of February-December 2009.  Please contact Becky Sauder at 241-7189 if you are interested in helping.  Thanks!

 

Church Services Online

Online Streaming of the church services is now available through the church website.  Anywhere you can get internet access, you can receive the Live Audio Stream.  To access this, please go to www.tremontacc.org & click on the headphones on the main page.  Then click on the green “play” button in order to initiate the audio stream.  In order to use the streaming capabilities, your machine must have Windows Media Player installed & configured.  This can be done through your automated Windows Updates, or by clicking on the link provided below the “play” button.  Once clicking “play”, please wait a few minutes for the stream to load.  If you have any questions or concerns, please go to the “Contact Us” link & click on the envelope to send a question to the website developers.

 

In the hopes to minimize the cost of the phone system, we would encourage any users who have internet access to use this option instead of calling into the phone conference system.  This phone system will remain functioning, but we’re hoping that offering this new avenue for listening to church services will allow us to decrease our monthly phone conference bill.

 

Winter Work Project in Oakville

A winter work project is planned for Oakville.  The project will begin on January 5, 2009 & run through the end of March or till completion.  It will involve rebuilding homes damaged in the flood.  The general schedule for each home will be restoring of electrical, plumbing, & HVAC systems, followed by sheet rock, cabinets, trim, & decorating.  Most of the work will be inside dwellings that were previously gutted & cleaned.  Accomodations for volunteers will continue to be at the church.  Sleeping rooms with cots & air mattresses, indoor shower facilities, & meals will all be provided.  The availability of volunteers is key to the success of this project.  Please fill out the skills section of the registration page at

Benefit Supper Info – February 7th

The Magdalena Meal & Silent Auction sign-up sheets will be out from January 11-February 1.  Please sign-up by February 1 if you plan to attend so we can plan for food.  Also, we are again looking for people to make homemade pies for the supper.  This list will also be out January 11.  If you are interested in donating something for the  Silent Auction, please leave it in the World Relief room at the FH anytime after January 12.  If you have questions, call Cathy Koch at 925-3905.  Thanks!

 

Request for Greeting Cards

If you have any old greeting cards (baby, wedding, sympathy, birthday, etc.) that you would like to get rid of – please give them to Wilma Pulfer or place them in the box provided at church.  Wilma plans to use them at the Hallmark House to make scrapbooks & gift tags.  Thank you!

 

Mennonite Relief Sale Quilt

A quilt for the Mennonite Relief Sale will be set up for all-day quiltings beginning Monday, January 12th, continuing till the quilt is finished.

Quilting will begin at 9:00 a.m. each morning.  There will also be quilting on Monday evening starting at 7:00 p.m.  If you have any questions, please talk to Christy Musselman, Diane Koch, or June Koch.  Thanks!
