October Bulletin

It Takes Just One Autumn Day

It takes just one autumn day to know that I’ve been blessed

When the trees are red & gold & nature’s at her best.

A kaleidoscope of colors is dancing with the wind,

As the leaves begin to fall & birches sway & bend.

The harvest has been bountiful once again this year,

And as I count my blessings, I shed a joyful tear.

Adrift in Autumn’s pageantry, my heart is homeward bound,

As I recall my childhood days with every sight & sound.

Leaf by leaf & branch by branch are colors I like best …

It takes just one autumn day to know that I’ve been blessed.

Local World Relief Rep Needed

Pete Aberle now serves as the secretary of the World Relief European Committee which is responsible for relief aid programs for Nazarene brethren in Eastern Europe.  As a result, Pete & Debbie are seeking a brother and/or couple interested in assisting with organizing World Relief activities at the local level.  For example, organizing help for local building projects, organizing help – like a “Tremont Work Day” for regional disasters (i.e. Taylor/Oakville), & assisting with local food pantry projects.  Pete & Debbie are willing to continue as Tremont’s World Relief treasurer & representative & also to assist with food pantry projects.  Please contact Pete or Debbie if you are interested at 925-5969.

Crown Biblical Financial Study Program

The elder body approved the use of the Crown Biblical Financial Program.  The Crown program is a ten-week Bible Study that focuses on God’s financial principles.  Regardless of age or financial stability, anyone who has a role in managing their household’s finances should consider participating.  Married & engaged couples are encouraged to attend the Bible Study together, working as a team through loving & constant communication.  Adult singles (out of high school & making independent financial decisions) are also encouraged to attend.  Participation in a Bible Study is one of the best ways for singles to receive some of the financial stewardship guidance which they seek.  If it will increase their comfort level, singles are encouraged to participate in pairs.  Those who have had experience in putting groups together in Bible Studies report that the best results are obtained in mixing people without regard to age, marital status, or financial condition.  If you are interested in participating, contact one of the ministers.  If you are interested in becoming a group leader, please indicate that also.  This will be a long term, multi-year program which will start small & grow as the interest & trained group leaders are available.  The first group will consist of a minister couple & those who express interest in becoming future group leaders.
