Tremont Food Pantry

The Tremont Food Pantry is now open every Monday evening from 5:00-7:00 p.m. excluding holidays.  I am looking for 2-3 volunteers every month.  Each of the 4 churches will be taking a specific week.  Our church will do the 2nd Monday of every month. If anyone is interested in volunteering, they can contact Becky Sauder at 925-3215.  Thanks!

Volunteer Opportunity

We are looking for retired men who would be willing to run the dishwasher during funeral meals.  Please call Jerry Kaiser at 925-3885 if you are interested.

Dishwashing Help Needed

The men who run the dishwasher on Sundays are ready to teach other men how to do the job.  If you are willing & want to learn – come back at 11:15 on Sundays to watch.  The only way to learn is to work along with someone who already knows how to do it.  Thanks!

Request

We certainly appreciate the brothers who have been running the dishwasher at noon.  We can make their job easier by NOT putting our napkins in the cups or glasses.  Please tell your children about this, too!!

Church Directories

The new church directories are available!!! The calling list is TOTALLY revised.  Please note the changes!

ICC Benefit Supper

The ICC Young Group will be hosting a benefit supper on October 4th at 6:30 p.m. at the Morton FH for anyone interested in attending.

World Relief Opportunity

People are needed to help re-shingle the St. Louis Apostolic Christian Church.  Our first scheduled dates in June had to be canceled due to flooding conditions in Oakville/Taylor.  We have now rescheduled as listed below:

Friday, September 12th starting at 9:00 a.m.

Saturday, September 13th starting at 8:00 a.m.

We need 20-25 volunteers each day.  The church address is … 3333 Upper Bottom Rd, St. Charles, MO 63303.  Telephone:  636-447-8412.

The St. Louis brethren will keep as many as they can overnight & the rest will be put up in local motels.  Please bring – Tools to tear off the existing shingles (potato forks, shovels, etc.).  Brooms to sweep the plywood roof once the  shingles are torn off.  Staplers & 5/16” staples IF you have some.  Hammer & apron.  Utility knife & blades to cut the shingles.

If you have interest, please contact Arnold Gerst at 217-223-8424 or 217242-8996.

Email:  arnoldegerst_415@comcast.net

ACYF Ushers

Tremont is planning to host ACYF on September 14 & 21.  There is a need for additional brothers to usher.  If you are interested in helping, please contact Tom Haas.  Thanks!

Oakville Update

The clean-up work is mostly completed & the building phase is in progress.  We are now in need of skilled workers in the following trades:

Carpenters

Electricians

Plumbers

HVAC

Sheet Rock installers

Mudders & tapers

Because many of the buildings are at different stages, there will be work for each of the trades for the next 4-6 weeks & possibly beyond.  The rate of progress depends on the number of volunteers we have each day.  If you have any of the above skills & a desire to help, please register at www.acworldrelief.org

Christmas Stocking Volunteer Needed

Morton & Tremont A.C. Churches have both given money from their respective World Relief Funds once a year to buy items for the Peoria Rescue Ministries to give each man at the mission a “Christmas Stocking” filled with clothing items, toiletries, & a Bible.  The Tremont Young Group has also given money to this cause each year.  Carol Aberle took the money & bought/assembled these items to be given to the men on Christmas Day.  She is looking for someone to take over this once a year project.  Please contact Carol at 678-5956 if you are interested in doing this or if you have any questions about it.  Thanks!!

Timber Ridge Singing

Timber Ridge would like to thank us for our involvement with the Friday Evening Hymn Singing.  The residents look forward to our visits & interaction.  There are 13 of our churches who take a turn through the year.  Tremont’s turn is going to be October 10th,  so mark your calendars to attend!

Local World Relief Rep Needed

Pete Aberle now serves as secretary of the World Relief European Committee which is responsible for relief aid programs for Nazarene brethren in Eastern Europe.  As a result, Pete & Debbie are seeking a brother and/or couple interested in assisting with organizing World Relief activities at the local level.  For example, organizing help for local building projects, organizing help – like a “Tremont Work-Day” for regional disasters (i.e. Oakville, Taylor), & assisting with local food pantry projects.  Pete & Debbie are willing to continue as Tremont’s World Relief treasurer & representative & also to assist with the food pantry projects.  Please contact Pete or Debbie if you are interested at 925-5969.  Thanks!
